We do this at a very affordable price (probably cheaper than what a Rug Doctor rental would cost you to do it yourself). The snap-on carpeting allows you to also clean the decking underneath the carpeting. We do not recommend the use of throw rugs on a boat. The throw rugs that are sold at the big box stores in our area are typically not made to handle the intense outdoor elements (sun, heat, water, etc.) If these types of rugs are left on the boat for a long period of time the backings begin to crack and they lose their grip (and make a mess). 
Boat Carpet Stains
We use the same solutions as we do when doing our household carpet stain removal. Outdoor Boat Deck Carpeting We typically see two types of outdoor boat carpeting.
The Berber is similar to what you see installed in household basements or high traffic areas. It is a very close trimmed fiber. Outdoor carpeting used in boats is typically produced from a solution-dyed fiber that has UV sun stabilizers added to protect it from the extreme outdoor elements. If someone spills a drink or food on, it is best to wipe it down as quickly as possible. It is wise to consider putting some stain guard on your boat carpeting to prevent stains from soaking into the fibers of your carpeting. We always recommend that you keep a carpet cleaner spray on board and a scrub brush. We recommend doing your boat carpets at least once a year. Folks you use our service will typically do a professional cleaning in the spring and then once in late fall before they put the boat away for the season.
